Really cool.
This is really awesome. Very, veeerry catchy stuff. And this song had perfect flow from one section to the next. Job well done, I have zero complaints.
I still really like your chiptune stuff
even if you consider them "nothing special." I really do believe your stuff is high enough quality in composition as well as overall structure to be in a big time old school video game. This one for instance gives me a Megaman vibe.
Only reason I gave a 9 rather than a 10 is that I feel like it could've used more balance/EQ (which I don't even know if its possible or easy to equalize on a modplug tracker as I have never used one, so this may be no fault of your own).
Other than that it was truly delightful, I enjoyed it thoroughly.
Make it longer!
Awesome drums! They're very crisp and well produced. Great bass as well, so it's just riveting to listen too. I do think you should extend it and make a simple, maybe even ambient melody. Just something to keep the listener interested. You have fantastic production skills so keep it up!
Thanks man! Glad you liked it.
Actually, the drums were all sampled in a loop, I just added a few sounds to it. ^^
The bass was made by me, though. So that makes me happy. :D
A very good start.
I really like it so far. Sounds like something from a suspense movie. But yeah i really like your blend of elements such like the real sounding percussion that gets overrun by electronic sounding percussion around 0:43. And the blend between a tranquil- reverby guitar and the more powerful distorted electric guitar. Very nice contrast in textures and atmospheres. As far as layers- it needs more bass. You could go either way with this one : Bass synth or bass guitar since your using both live sounding and electronic sounding elements. Some other possible layers : background pads/strings, other synths doing arpeggios, maybe some violin or other stringed instrument. Just some suggestions.
But overall you have the start of a killer track. I hope you continue to develop it and would love to hear the finished product. If you have a moment, I would appreciate if you could give my latest track a listen. Thanks!
Thanks for the suggestions, man, I'll keep 'em in mind. Unfortunately I don't have a bass at home, therefore I'll have to stick with a synth (although I suck at making a rich sounding synth bass, for the time being).
I'll definitely keep you posted when the finished product arrives.
Cheers.
P.S. checked your latest track: it sounds fantastic (the structure is as smooth as silk), but ironically I think it has too much bass, imho ^_^.
Nice
Very good break beats. The synths all flow together nicely. And the melody is very uplifting. The only suggestion for improvement I have is that the track gets a little bit repetitive into the second half.
Great work overall. If you have a moment I would appreciate if you could check out my latest song, it needs some exposure. Thanks!
Yeahh, it is a bit repetitive. I would fix it, but I don't want to fuck it up by adding too much, so I'm gonna keep it like this. Thanks though. And, will do. :D
Also, I'll be updating this track in a couple minutes with the sub bass fixed. :P Was way too high before.
It's got potential
But I'm in the same boat as Timer, it feels really empty and gets a bit boring. But overall its an interesting concept.
You should come back to this because it could develop into something really cool.
This is awesome.
I'm not sure what it means but it makes me lol. Great job. Are these samples? Or did you record them? I need to know
Lol but its awesome
I recorded those, yeah.
The idea (actually the lyrics) came from a song by They might Be Giants called Cloisonné.
Great concept
I like the reverb. It works very well. Yeah it feels like a bittersweet ending to something, like it's over now but not everything is right. It's a very very dramatic piece.
Great work.
thank you! keep having pictures of a film with this in background XD
