Really cool

This sounds like the clip to a movie trailer. This is really well mixed and good
composition. The build up is very powerful.

Good job

ALECXACE responds:

thnx

Sounds like it belongs in a movie

which is a compliment. This sounds very professional. I really like the glitchy blips @ 0:21. Very good job on composition, masterfully mixed, overall 3 thumbs up.

Keep it up.

Thanks im actualy working on a big project animation called ~Des~ its a Movie im making now

Love it

Kind of reminds me of Boards of Canada, but with trip-hop drums laid on top. It's great, very chill. Also, your mixing is unmatched... I'd say perfect even.

Can't think of any suggestions for improvement.

Thanks! The trick I've found for my mixing is to compare to other songs I listen to. I don't need expensive equipment as long as I can match my favorite artists' sound and quality.

Unique (In a good way)

I don't know if you've ever heard of him, but this reminds me of William Orbit (if he did more drum and bass stuff).

You have some really unique sounds. This was well done, the only thing I'd recommend is being more tedious about mixing your bass stuff, as it gets a little muddy. But the track is still excellent. Keep it up.

Piedoom0 responds:

Thanks for the review! Andcorre the 10 *o*
I just have to spend more time on bass, I get lazy xD. And I'll take a look at William Orbit.

Nice

It's not even my style of music, but I can dig it. I like it it has a good progression, great melodies, great harmonies. I'd say it's well on its way to being a great piece. You said the EQ isnt complete but I'd say even that sounds fine really, its pretty well mixed.

The only thing that bothers me is that some of the patterns get irritating and repetitive such as the piano in the background. It's a nice little piano loop, and it works, but maybe replace it with a new piano loop at some point.

Other than that, good job!

mNl responds:

Wow,thanks man !!!
About the EQ - i thought it might be quiet shit, because everything is done on my headphones,i need to take a listen on speakers. That's the reason, you know... ;)

Yap,true;i totaly agree - the piano is a bit annoying. I even recognized that problem. I'll fix it as fast i can.

Thanks for your review,i try to fix all the probs you told me. Thanks man ! I realy appreciate your words.

Well

Your composition skills are up to par. However, you need to find yourself some better VSTs because these just are not cutting it. Download DR Fuzion for your drumming needs. Take note that these are all free. Download Taurus for our bass, and DSK Oranze for your synthing needs. use the stock TS404 in FL studio along side Oranze, and the stock 3osc is quite good too.

Good Luck!

DENT-de-lion responds:

Thanks for the advice! I just downloaded all of those!

Great concept

I really like what you have here. The strings sound great and the notes are perfect. However, it takes way too long to buildup to the ambient drums and piano. If I had a say, they would come in at around 40seconds in. After that you should add layer after layer of something new. The key to ambient music not sounding empty is layers.

It's a bit short

This is not very complete. I liked it and could see what you are going for with it, but it's seriously missing quite a lot. You should just lock yourself away with your computer and get to work finishing this and make it a masterpiece.

Creepy Feel

I really liked the ambient opening with the reverby bass drum. It works perfectly as an intro to the song. Overall, it has a creepy and spacey vibe throughout it. The synths all blend together really well. The breakdowns and buildups helped to keep the song from becoming monotonous. I liked how you ended the song with the pitch blended synth going up, really neat and unique way to close out the song.

One thing I've noticed throughout a few of your songs is that you seem to use the same kick drum. It's always to have some variety in your drums. Criticism aside, I really enjoyed it and your stuff will only get better with time.

SkyeWint responds:

Thanks for the review! I actually don't use the same kick drum throughout all my songs, I vary them. They are similar though, I'll give it that. I'm trying out different kicks from Reason now though, hopefully they'll be better.

The ending, I worked hard on that. Spent an hour on it alone, after somebody didn't like the previous ending of simply fading out the drums after the last "bell" arp. Out of curiosity though, was the kick the only reason you gave this an 8? I feel like there was something else you hadn't said. Could you PM me or something with what else you didn't like? Or, if it was just the kick, no need to PM. lol. Thanks overall though.

Soooooo sooo catchy

Very well done. I could totally see this in a badass retro style videogame. Excellent work. Sounds very clean and precise, and well mixed.

Wouldn't change a thing.

Kubbi responds:

Glad you enjoyed it, man : )
